Hello, dears! It's been a little while since last I wrote a thing down; this has been mostly due to a sick kitty-cat and also to my birthday (and family in town) this past week.
Friday afternoon, with my mom and best friend, Nikki, in tow- we kicked off my birthday weekend with cupcakes at Sprinkles and shopping in Georgetown. (I also had a second interview for that job that I mentioned I so desperately wanted.) The whole day was such a treat! They spoiled me crazy with bath goodies from Lush and makeup treats from Sephora...I'm completely obsessed.
Saturday was mostly relaxing with Shake Shack and mah ladies in the afternoon and the Doctor Who season finale (so freaking good) with the husband that evening.
Sunday morning, we worshiped at the Haus of Drag, or as it's really known, Perry's Restaurant- where every Sunday morning they host a fabulous drag brunch. I really can't think of a better way to spend my 25th birthday, then being surrounded by the people I love, waffles, mimosas, Donna Summer, and pasties. Those are some hard working ladies, you guys. I WANT TO GO BACK RIGHT NOW. It was like clubbing, but sitting down and with breakfast. So, it's idyllic.
After the brunch, we wandered around Adam's Morgan a little bit and took a tour of the Cathedral (seperate post coming).
Later that day, we shopped around King st. and I had a lemon birthday cupcake at Alexandria Cupcakes.
This birthday weekend was the most relaxed and grown up thus far- and perhaps one of my favorite.
Next time you're in DC for the weekend, I insist you stop by Perry's.
(Later this week I'll post some most amusing vines from my birthday brunch.)
Many Huzzahs,
Janice & Jared
p.s.
Yes, I've overused the new Beautiful Mess app- but can you blame me?
Hi and happy late birthday! I recently stumbled across your blog, and I love reading about y'all's adventures in DC...it seems like such a great city (especially with this brunch...what? amazing!).
It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday, and I hope you had an equally lovely long weekend.
